My First Day in Cognizant and Last few days before dad left from Chennai

Though  i told my dad not to go with me but he went with me as I am new in Chennai to drop me on the first day of my office, so may not be able to know the streets of Chennai, but how could i say my dad, that go pops I have to be here without anyone during this 4-5months without you , mom, Shreya everyone.

Anyways just like my first day in school as I saw mom and dad standing far away in the school gate and I am in the school barrier, the same way i saw dad standing far away looking at me and having all the burden of tension and lots of thoughts that how am i going to stay here for the next few months alone here, and someone like me who hasn’t stayed out of his home even not for a single night. 

After some time I waved at dad and told him to leave as ,  the next few steps and probably next all the steps I have to take all alone. Dad went.

Standing in the queue (Cognizant bus use to come at the MEPZ main get to pick up and drop near the office gate) knowing not a single person in the crowd. Suddenly somebody called me “Hey, Are you a new recruit in Cognizant?”, I saw a guy Black, Tall, guy standing in front of me, I said hi, he asked my name and i answered , but very sorry to say , that what he answered about his name was very complicated. I was not used to with these long names. He was a fresher also like me but from Chennai itself. Anyway but I found someone to talk at list in this big crowd.

After 5-minutes wait a small white bus came with a Cognizant logo , to pick us up. We went into the bus and the bus started to roll. After 5-minutes, the bus reached the destination. I came out of the bus.

I still have this memory very well that after seeing the mepz building for the first time of Cognizant, the first thing that came into my mind was, Ooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhh myyyyyyyyyyy ggggoooooooooddddddddd........ yes this is a giant...truly... After a round of all the checking we went inside, with astonishment in every footsteps I moved around the whole campus.

After that we all went into the hall, where we were addressed with some HRs, and some well known person in the company.

The speeches started , ended , lunch came , then again speech , but I , sitting in the hall but still my amazed and a bit afraid mind were moving around the corners of the IT giant.

The day came to an end and I returned from my first day in office. Came back to the hotel. Saw dad sitting alone waiting to hear my first day’s experience in Cognizant.

The same way first few 2-3 days went smoothly and at the end of the third day the HRs announced that in which center our training will be happening, and what will be my technology of training.

At the end of the third day while coming out of the seminar hall, I found a boy and girl talking with each other in Bengali, my native language. I felt like.... J

I went and told “Bengali??”, and their face also looked same as mine watching another native in the unknown city.

Their names ??????

Debapriya Sengupta and Zeeshan Ali........... Whom I can call my only friends of corporate world..

Then the day came slowly when dad was suppose to leave, in one morning it was 5.30 when I heard that dad is getting freshen up and was preparing to leave. Suddenly I felt like telling him , please don’t go, but somehow I couldn’t.
Dad went, and I with lots of tears came to the hotel room and started preparing to leave for the day’s office.  I was also suppose to leave the hotel room that day and was going to shift with my few friends in a flat. Had a very peculiar feeling , that i cant describe. Let s see how the coming days go...... J
